Special Day

Hello everyone,

Happy Friday!! :)
I wish you all a wonderful weekend!!

I needed a Birthday card for my brother for next week,so i thought the new retrosketches Challenge would be perfect for it!!

My card is hmmm...very simple,no bling,no Wink of Stella.Boohoo! :( That was a challenge for me,NOT using any of this.I just used a little glossy accents on the balloons.I am just so not a masculine card maker.Never been, and i think i never will be! I just love my bling and glitter way to much! hehe Oh and did i mention how much i hate it when cardstock starts working after putting on glossy accents. ;) I think that's also the reason i don't do much of heat embossing.I think that's just a "personal" problem i have, when cs starts working.Oh well...could be worst! hehe

supplies: Lawn Fawn - Into the woods papers, Clearly Besotted - Make a Wish Stamps and Dies, My Creative Time - Fun Stitched Edges, Hero Arts - Shadow Inks

Thank you so much for stopping by!!!

Hi Cindy, the colors you used are soft and soothing. It looks wonderful even without bling or glitter :) I love that stuff too. Beautiful design and just enough glossy accents. I love it!

Masculine cards are tough...but you can't go wrong with balloons...who doesn't like balloons? Very cheery and I agree with Marybeth...soft and soothing colors.

Cindy I adore this card! Guys can be difficult...in more ways than one at times! But especially in the card-making area! I always struggle!

I have a question for you. You mentioned card stock "working" and I must say that's one I don't know if I've ever heard before. Would you please explain what you mean? I sure would appreciate it!!! THANKS!!

Oh this is so cute Cindy! The colors are wonderful and as always your design is meticulous!! Fabulous work! Thank, you my friend so much for the sweet comments on my blog. I have always greatly admired your work with scrapbooking and now with cards!! As far as how I keep my light colors of clay clean, I use lotion. I keep a bottle of lotion and a clean hand towel by my work space and anything I switch to a lighter color, I put the lotion all over my hands, rub it around a bit and then wipe it off with the towel. Works wonderfully! ((Hugs))

Cindy, your masculine card is very handsome, and quite striking! Balloons are the perfect choice - they're ageless, timeless and work for everyone! The greens and blues: another excellent choice for a masculine card! Your brother will absolutely adore this, as do I! As for you 'believing' you can't make guy cards - well, I disagree, because this one is a knockout!! Hugs~c
